The organic agriturismo Podere l’Agave is a place with a history and a life: mine and my family’s. It’s where I decided to have my children, Emanuele and Martino, and to bring them up. That’s one of the reasons we don’t use poisons but decided right from the start to take up organic farming.

The olives we’ve planted over these years are side by side with the centuries old plants. The meadows and woods are brought to life by the Cinta Senese pigs (“Siena saddlebacks”) that live semi-free range. We’ve also planted ancient fruit trees which we make jams with, and we produce vegetables in the vegetable garden.

New animals join the pigs every year: rabbits; chickens; Guinea fowl; donkeys, and our dogs, Lulu and Vicky.

We’re a short distance from the beaches and village of San Vincenzo; we’re out-of-the-way but not so remote – it means you can enjoy a food and drink holiday in complete relaxation.
For guests’ wellness there are two swimming pools,  Jacuzzi, gazebos and a gym.
For families with children – especially in the summer – there are big meadows, a play park, lots of animals, tree-houses.

For everyone, all of the time, there are our products: the Cinta Senese salumi; the organic jams; the fruit and vegetables and the olive oil that accompany the wines and cheeses of the Costa degli Etruschi (the “Etruscan coast”).

All the apartments and suites have an outside space with tables and chairs so that you can enjoy the scents and the panorama of the Tuscan countryside.

The bar is open to our guests from the morning – when we serve a rich breakfast based on the farm’s organic products and on the best products from the Costa degli Etruschi – until the evening – when you can have an aperitif accompanied by our salumi.

We’re close to some of the most beautiful beaches in Tuscany (Parco di Rimigliano, Parco della Sterpaia, Golfo di Baratti, Cala Moresca, Cala Violina) and to nature trails for trekking, mountain biking and horse-riding trips. The hundreds of kilometres of roads twisting through breathtaking panoramas are the destination for cycling holiday enthusiasts from Autumn to Spring.

We are a few kilometres from the natural and archaeological parks of Populonia, Baratti and San Silvestro, and not far from Siena, Volterra, Pisa, San Gimignano, Roselle, Massa Marittima, and San Galgano.

A short distance away there is also the spa of Calidario, which is well-known for its sulphurous water springs, and the spa of Ceretta in the oak woods of Sassetta.

We are on the wine route that sets off from Bolgheri and, passing through the mediaeval villages of Castagneto Carducci and Campiglia Marittima, arrives at Suvereto.

In this oasis of peace and calm you can win back your relationship with nature and its rhythms – our rhythms.

The hills and the sea together with the sky are the backdrop to this corner of Tuscany. Here you can be in the village and on the beach within a few minutes, but once you’ve got here you have the chance to experience nature and the countryside and pull the plug on the chaos and din.

The seasons and their changes beat time: spring is the moment of the explosion of colours and scents; summer is lavish with fruits and autumn brings our yellow gold – organic extra-virgin olive oil; finally, winter is the time for walks on the beach or in the woods looking for mushrooms and chestnuts, for spas and for relaxation.
